The Man Behind
the Music

I have been spinning records and reading crowds since 1987 — decades behind the decks across countless events, receptions, and celebrations. That kind of experience doesn't come from a certification. It comes from showing up, night after night, and learning what moves people.

I was born and raised in Michigan's beautiful Upper Peninsula in the town of Marquette. I pioneered the art of mobile DJing, becoming the leading "go to guy" for wedding receptions, company holiday parties, special events, school dances, bars and clubs. After selling my business to my protege in the 90s, I moved to Florida and took off a decade to have a short career in tech, working for IBM Global Services. I began attending Burning Man in the 2000s and discovered electronic music, which re-invigorated my love of motivating people to dance and elevate spirits thru music.

I moved to Key West 7 years ago, and am now a proud local resident. I bring my deep well of experience to the island's wedding and party scene — with the genuine warmth and laid-back professionalism that fits our island perfectly.

Things Couples Ask

How far in advance should I book? +
Key West is a popular wedding destination — dates fill up quickly, especially in fall and spring. I'd recommend reaching out at least several months in advance to secure your date. That said, don't hesitate to inquire even if your wedding is coming up sooner.
Do you travel to other venues in the Florida Keys? +
Absolutely. I serve all of the Florida Keys, from Key Largo down to Key West. Travel fees may apply for events further out — just ask when you inquire.
Can we submit a custom playlist or song requests? +
Yes — and I love it when couples do. We'll work together during planning to build your ideal setlist, incorporate must-plays and do-not-plays, and make sure the music tells your story from start to finish.
Can you handle outdoor and remote locations? +
Yes — this is actually one of my strengths. Battery-powered and wireless speaker setups mean I'm not dependent on venue power. Beach ceremonies, tropical garden settings, boat decks — if that's where you want to celebrate, the music will be there too.
Do you offer ceremony and cocktail hour coverage? +
Yes. I can cover your full wedding day — from ceremony processional through cocktail hour ambiance and into the reception. Happy to customize coverage to fit exactly what you need.
What's your backup plan if something goes wrong? +
I carry backup equipment and have contingency plans for the unexpected. After decades of doing this, you learn to stay two steps ahead — so you never notice a thing.
